Smartenit Delivers First Android, iOS, Web Browser and Desktop Application for ZigBee and INSTEON Monitoring and Control

San Juan Capistrano, CA (PRWEB) April 13, 2012

Smartenit has introduced a simple, yet highly effective client/server model for handling automation via ZigBee, INSTEON and X10. The Harmony gateways, in their role as servers, take care of all the vagaries of the underlying protocols and the physical connection (wireless or powerline) to the devices in the automation network. The client application on the mobile or desktop platform takes advantage of the work done by the server, and concentrates on the presentation to the user. Communication between the client and the server is done via a lean API that ensures very rapid response and fast interaction. This architecture makes for a pleasant user experience in interacting with the various switches, sensors, appliances and systems in the installation. The streamlined architecture offers the benefits of fast response time, easy inclusion of new devices, transparency of protocol to the user, wider choice of available devices, and future expandability. Seamless control of home automation devices bridging ZigBee, INSTEON and X10 allows a user remote and local control of the widest spectrum of devices without worrying about the various nuances of the diverse technologies. “This App gives our customer a consistent user experience, more options for devices in their network, and the ability to build upon systems they may already have in place”, states Sammy Korotie, sales administrator.

The application focuses on facilitating the main aspects of monitoring and control: addition and maintenance of devices, organization of the automation network according to user preferences, and setup of automation events based on either/both time and device conditions. Simple operations are provided to go from plugging in a device for the first time, to operating it remotely in less than 30 seconds.

Monitor and control from anywhere. The server gateway is the controller attached to a router in the user environment and to the devices in the automation network. The Smartenit App can connect to this server from anywhere, assuming the user has an Internet connection. This opens a myriad of possibilities for monitoring and controlling from the office, from a remote city while on vacation, from a different continent, from anywhere.

Immediate support is provided for a broad line of devices including: whole house energy monitoring, temperature / humidity monitoring, large and small load control from lighting to HVAC and pool pumps, smart plugs that report electricity consumption, and irrigation control. These devices can be set for simple on/off control, timed actions, or more complex control based upon various rules that, when met, trigger automation events. Status of the devices in real-time is displayed by the application taking advantage of data pushed from the server when the status on a device changes.

The application was developed in a way that versions with the same look-and-feel are created simultaneously for Android, iOS (IPhone and iPad) and BlackBerry Tablet. Likewise, versions are available for all major desktop systems including Windows, MacOS and Linux. Finally, for the ultimate in remote connectivity, the same application is available for rapid download to any browser supporting the Adobe Flash player from http://www.harmonygateway.com

Version 1 of the application is available free for use with Smartenit Harmony gateways.

With New Remote Desktop for Mobiles, You Can Access and Operate Your PC-based Resources Through Your Mobile Phone Anywhere 24 Hours a Day

(PRWEB) April 7, 2005

ZZZ Software, the developer of wireless connectivity software for mobile systems, today announced the release of version 1.0 of Remote Desktop for Mobiles. Designed for the Windows platforms, it allows the user to operate PC-based applications, folders, and files remotely through a GSM phone. Regardless of where you are now or what time it is in this part of the world, you can quickly connect to your home or office computer and edit a document in MS Word, send an email, browse the Web, or find a contact in the Outlook address book. And all this is virtually in real time.

Remote Desktop for Mobiles is a complete, all-in-one product compatible with a wide range of mobile phones (RIM BlackBerry version also available). It consists of the Server and the Client modules. Based on a remote computer, the Server uses the TCP/IP protocol to communicate with the phone-based Client; it transmits the real time desktop view to a phone display, executes mouse and keyboard commands received from the Client. With the zoom-in/out option, the Client enables the user to view any fragment or the whole desktop of the remote PC and perform operations with it.

Remote Desktop for Mobiles combines a simple navigation of a remote computer and secure data transfer between a PC and a phone. The Client module features an easy to use mobile phone menu that allows executing any command in a flash. Moreover the Client has the address book that stores the list of executed commands. Any command can be re-executed again in one click. Secure data transfer between the Client and the Server is based on 3DES encryption algorithm. By generating random encryption keys for opening a new session, the program eliminates the risk of unauthorized access.

“Remote Desktop for Mobiles is the most significant project in our history and one of the world’s first software to facilitate wireless control of a remote PC through a mobile phone,” said Alex Semenov, marketing communications manager at ZZZ Software. “The program is directly in line with our vision for the next generation wireless connectivity systems that give people the unprecedented mobility freedom as well as an immediate access to computer-based information resources and services.”

Austin, TX (PRWEB) February 08, 2012

CrossTec Corporation and Lab Resources, Inc. are kicking off the Texas Computer Education Association (TCEA) 2012 Convention today in Austin, TX to show teachers, IT managers, and educational leaders how to implement some of the most advanced 21st century education technology solutions into their schools and add value to their education systems. Their display includes a SoftXpand 2011 virtual desktop configuration driving a variety of CAD and graphic design software, all managed and monitored with CrossTec SchoolVue classroom management software.

CrossTec SchoolVue is a classroom management solution that enables teachers to deliver top notch lessons to students in their 21st century classrooms. More than ever before, teachers, lab instructors, and corporate trainers can take control of classroom technology, giving them the ability to monitor student activity on the PC, control application and internet usage, instant messenger usage, device usage and more. Teachers can use features such as the Show mode for classroom demonstration or leverage the Testing Console to deliver custom, interactive, computer based tests that are graded automatically by the SchoolVue software.

Driving the hardware in the display is SoftXpand 2011, a MultiSeat desktop virtualization software tool that is capable of running multiple high performance independent workstations off of a single Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server 2008 R2 based PC. Many schools are adding more and more PCs to their classrooms and SchoolVue gives them an easy way to manage them while adding teaching tools to increase collaboration and enhance learning in the classroom, said CrosssTecs Marketing & Advertising Manager, Michael Beverly. SchoolVue was developed with the teacher in mind. All of our features can save time for the instructor while at the same time offering a modern approach to digital instruction in the classroom.
