New Website Provides Real-Time Access to Cold Chain Monitoring

Ventura, CA (PRWEB) April 19, 2012

Cargo Data, a leader in innovative temperature monitoring solutions, unveils its newly designed website featuring unique ways to access cold chain data.

This site offers a new & unique view of our products plus access to cold chain temperature data in two new innovative ways. Immediate access in real time using the new ATMS (Automatic Temperature Monitoring System) program or access to previously downloaded recorder data for shippers, receivers and carriers using free UpLink feature.

The ATMS program provides instant and automatic archiving of ALL data on incoming perishable shipments at time of arrival. The wireless transmission of data is sent directly to a secure server so downloading individual recorders is no longer necessary. For fast data at the trailer door, use the Express handheld receiver. Receiving Dock employees can view a Large LCD chart in less than 5 seconds and see details of the arriving temperature data. No waiting for downloading-accept/reject decisions are fast and at the same time the data is sent for permanent storage. Contact Cargo Data for complete details on the program.

The second innovation is our Uplink data access program. Cargo Data recorders can be downloaded using our free – KoldLink software (available at http://www.cargodatacorp.com). The UpLink feature immediately sends the temperature data to a secure site. All interested parties can retrieve the temperature data by entering the unique recorder ID number in the UpLink field at cargodatacorp.com. Reports can be viewed online and printed for free. (Sample report available online)

Our new logo showcases our approach to temperatures and our commitment to Cold Chain Monitoring Made Simple. Visit our all-new website at http://www.cargodatacorp.com or call 800-338-8134 to learn more about these and other temperature monitoring solutions.

Solar Power, Inc. and Advanced Systems Integration Use Microsoft Dynamics AX to Connect Overseas Supply Chain

Lake Forest, CA (PRWEB) February 10, 2009

Advanced Systems Integration (ASi) is pleased to announce the selection of Microsoft Dynamics AX (formerly Microsoft Business Solutions Axapta) by Solar Power, Inc. (“SPI”) (OTCBB: SOPW). Microsoft Dynamics AX was selected by Solar Power, Inc. to better power its worldwide operations.

Solar Power, Inc., headquartered in Roseville, California, is a vertically integrated manufacturer, designer, and installer of Photovoltaic (PV) solar electric energy solutions and related components. The company sells and installs commercial and residential photovoltaic solar electricity systems within the United States. Residential customers are served by a growing franchise network of Yes! Solar SolutionsTM retail stores. Large commercial systems, like the one the company recently installed at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, are sold by Solar Power, Inc. SPI also sells its products throughout Asia and Europe to a network of turnkey distributors.

Chief Information Officer (CIO), Bob Wood, at SPI commented, “We needed a business application that was easy to use. It needed to be very scalable, highly configurable and provide the necessary tools to automate our entire global operations from design to build. After rigorous evaluations we selected Microsoft Dynamics AX.”

Microsoft Dynamics AX is multi-language, multi-currency, enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform built entirely on Microsoft technology. With native customer relationship management (CRM) and supply chain management (SCM) functionality, Microsoft Dynamics AX provides manufacturers, distributors or service-based organizations the necessary tools to profitably manage their business. Solar Power foresees the following benefits from its implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX:

Support for growth. One of the primary objectives of the implementation is to provide Solar Power, Inc. with a technology that will allow management considerable growth.
Improved reporting. Microsoft Dynamics AX will enable the company to produce statutory accounting and management information more rapidly than before, allowing management to make business decisions that are more timely and effective.
Accuracy of data. Instead of relying on spreadsheets and multiple systems and processes, Solar Power, Inc. will take advantage of the Microsoft Dynamics AX capability to integrate many routines into one, eliminating repetitive data entry and thereby increasing accuracy.
Better planning. Both business planning and resources planning are expected to improve with Solar Power, Inc.’s new Microsoft technology.
More efficient supply chain management. Now it will be automated to a large extent, providing the company with the capability to support the larger and more complex manufacturing processes that it anticipates.

Solar Power, Inc. reviewed several channel partners before selecting Advanced Systems Integration. The company’s Controller, Peggy Jett, added, “We evaluated multiple partners and selected Advanced Systems Integration (ASi) because of their deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics AX including project accounting and their familiarity with construction industry standards.”

Jeff Onesto, Director of Business Development at ASi, concluded, “We are extremely proud to have been chosen by Solar Power as their implementation partner in North America. As one of the original Damgaard Partners in the U.S. and supporting an estimated 1,500 concurrent users across North America, our team’s reputation for deployment success and doing the right thing without excuses the first time, has created on-going demand for our services and has enabled our customer base to expand even during this tough financial slowdown.”

Supply Chain Security Can Pay for Itself

Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) June 19, 2006

With 95% of the world’s consumables being transported in an estimated 270+ million container trips this year (most of which are subject to trans-shipments or other transit) are the competitive demands on shipping companies (to charge the lowest rates on freight) from shippers and consignees, going to result in cost-cutting measures that can (and most likely will) compromise security… by, virtually opening the windows of opportunity to incidents — not unlike that of 9/11 –around the world?

Shipping companies, appear somewhat hesitant in implementing the use of new technologies that are being designed exclusively to help them in protect their domain. With the right equipment, data such as: shipment auditing, movement status, location, speed, temperature and a host of other features can be accessed in real-time. The dilemma brought on because shipping companies appear to be disinclined to allowing access to logistical information of their container traffic… they produce (willingly or not) an environment that can be exploited by an army of nascent forces, including terrorists.

Container theft is a daily occurrence… as is the “vanishing” of high value cargo from containers and trailers, in high-security ports. And, from the insurance industry’s perspective, these occurrences give the impression of becoming a “way of life.” If given the opportunity, especially with the heightened levels of terrorist activity around the world, any one of these vulnerable containers could easily become a terrorist’s lethal Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD).

AEGIS Technology Companies, Inc., through its Asset Tracking Logistic And Security (ATLAS) subsidiary, has been pursuing acknowledgment from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs & Border Protection (CBP), the United States Coast Guard, the Department of Defense and the European Union that its AM-11c GSM/Satellite WW Security System* can serve as a viable and effective preventive measure in the struggle to solve the container security problem… and do so at an acceptable level of investment. Insomuch as containers carry cargo with average values of US $ 80,000 to $ 185,000 and often values as much as US $ 2-3 million, does a security cost that, depending on the level of services being utilized, amounts to “less than a cup of coffee” sound “too expensive?”

The ATLAS AM-11c is the first Worldwide, Intermodal, Real-Time, 24/7, Tracking and Monitoring system that utilizes multiple telecommunications systems (from GSM to Satellite) via a unique hierarchal protocol that is: fully functional; currently available; adaptable to differing applications and requirements; flexible in configuration, and capable of addressing security needs through the entire supply-chain. The fact that less than 5% of all containers, around the world, are inspected, or are under surveillance or tracked and monitored from the point of stuffing to the point of delivery, is unconscionable… because that means that 95% (or more than 250 million containers) remain vulnerable and open to a multitude potential misuses including terror, destruction, havoc and theft.

The ATLAS AM-11c GSM/Satellite WW Security Solution has been designed to address the mandates, demands and regulations of governments and governing bodies, throughout the globe, including: the IMO, the EU’s EUREPGAP Protocol, the U.S. Container Security Initiative (CSI) — to name a few.

One example of the system’s capabilities relates to the Euro-Retailer Produce Working Group (EUREP), a European based trade organization for retailers that has developed an auditable standard promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), thus the creation of the EurepGAP Protocol. The Protocol holds that: “all food products, fruit, vegetables, meat and poultry can be subjected to the 2003 EU Law which demands that containers, transporting such products from non-EU countries into EU, are subjected to a comprehensive audit from the Point of Loading to Point of Delivery.”

The EUREPGAP Protocol is the European retailer’s way of responding to consumer concerns about food safety, animal welfare, environmental protection, and worker welfare. EurepGAP provides an obvious basis for tighter supply chain control, and therein, an added level confidence in product quality and safety. And, through the faculties of the AM-11c System, critical factors such as temperature surveillance, inspection data, environmental variances and the like can be scrupulously monitored and tracked — yielding a critical element in the supply-chain that produces benefits all involved.

And in the United States, we find the potential for Customs & Border Protection (CBP) to give preference (the so-called Green Lane) to shippers who are able to generate a Comprehensive Journey Report — to confirm that the integrity of the container, its contents, and the door seal have not been compromised, in any way, from the application of the seal to the CBP inspection. This door-to-door security monitoring — by way of the Journey Report — is a construct coming from the Container Security Initiative which was initiated by the Department of Homeland Security… and the ATLAS AM-11c, linked to the 24/7 live monitoring and surveillance services ATLAS provides, is there to serve this need by providing all of the pertinent data necessary in and for the production of the Journey Report.

What are the alternatives to the ATLAS AM-11c System, for shippers? Here are two:

1) Experience Delays and Rejections — reports have surfaced that acknowledged select cargo vessels, bound for certain US Ports, have been subjected to inspection, and even refused entry — causing delays and incurring substantial costs and heavy commercial losses.

2) X-Ray scanning of containers — using multi-million dollar high-value equipment and using expensive consumables — is proving unsatisfactory because of incomplete coverage, and questions on the credibility of its performance functionality.

What does the AM-11c system really cost?

The rental of a TEU (twenty foot equivalent unit) costs between $ 2,000 and $ 5,000 US — depending on the final destination and the point of origin.

The insurance costs of a TEU carrying a high value, easily disposable cargo of tobacco, alcohol, or Information Communications Technology (ICT) products valued at $ 2 million US or more, from US to Argentina might cost anything up to ten (10) percent of the value of the cargo. An armed guard from the U.S. to Buenos Aires costs can range from $ 1250 to $ 2500.

The ATLAS GSM/Satellite WW Security System can cost, depending on the level of services selected, as little as “pennies-a-day”.

The Green Lane which is designed to permit expedited entry into both US and EU ports, in the near future, assuming all security mandates are adhered to, could allow a Container Ship to unload TEU’s with a Priority Clearance and return to its Port of Origin for another load in record time. With the ATLAS GSM/Satellite WW Security System installed, savings of $ 4000+ or more, per journey, could be realized… after deducting the costs of the ATLAS GSM/Satellite WW Security System.

And, when compared with the ever increasing costs of bunker Fuel, demurrage and all the other fixed and variable operational costs of a Container Ship — which could be delayed for weeks for a physical inspection or refused entry into EU or U.S. Port — the price paid for an ATLAS GSM/Satellite WW Security System changes from being a liability to an asset almost instantly.

Cedar Ridge Camping Resort Joins Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Family Campground Chain

Bloomington, IN (Vocus) April 6, 2010

Cedar Ridge Camping Resort, a five-year-old former private membership resort in Bloomington, has joined the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park chain and will reopen for the summer camping season April 16th as Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Lake Monroe.

“We want to let the community know that this park will be open to everyone for overnight camping,” said Rob Schutter, President and COO of Milford, Ohio-based Leisure Systems Inc., which franchises the Jellystone Park chain.

The campground in Bloomington Indiana, which features 92 RV sites, 12 deluxe cabins and forested areas for primitive tent camping, is currently undergoing $ 200,000 worth of cosmetic improvements, including remodeled bathrooms, electrical upgrades, new rental units, a new campground store featuring exclusive Yogi Bear merchandise and park-wide wireless internet service.

The Jellystone Park Camp-Resort will become the 8th Indiana Campground in their network. Other Jellystone Parks are located in Fremont, Knightstown, Monticello, Pierceton, Plymouth, Portage and Scottsburg. The Jellystone Park chain is the second largest network of family campgrounds in the country, with 75 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

“Becoming part of the Jellystone Park network will significantly increase the marketing exposure and business base of the Bloomington location,” Schutter said, adding that the campground was recently purchased by an investment group Park River Ridge LLC after health issues forced the parks previous owners to exit the campground business.

Schutter said Jellystone Park at Lake Monroe will reserve a small number of campsites for Cedar Ridge Camping Resort members, but the majority of the campsites and all cabins will be available to the public.

Schutter also said that the park plans to offer fun family activities throughout the camping season, including arts and crafts classes, ice cream socials, extreme sports events, family movie and Karaoke nights as well as themed weekends focusing on everything from Mothers Day and Fathers Day to Mardi Gras, Christmas in July, Fall Harvest and Halloween weekends. Special weekend activities are also planned to honor our nations veterans.

And all these activities have an extra element of fun with Yogi Bear participating. Yogi will be on site daily to greet campers, pose for photo ops and take part in events.

For those who are curious about activities outside the park, Jellystone Park at Lake Monroe is next to an 18-hole championship golf course as well as Lake Monroe Indianas largest lake and a haven for boating enthusiasts.

About Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts

Launched in 1969, the Jellystone Park system is the second largest chain of family campgrounds in the United States, boasting 75 campgrounds with more than 15,000 campsites in 28 states and Canada. Its Camp-Resorts are among the best campgrounds in the industry with a quality reputation for being fun, friendly, clean and service-oriented parks. Additionally, each Jellystone Park is themed with Yogi Bear elements providing instant recognition and consumer appeal. It is truly a place “Where You Camp With Friends.”

Rustic Creek Ranch Texas RV Resort To Join Yogi Bears Jellystone Park Chain

Burleson, TX (Vocus) April 24, 2010

In less than 10 years, Ronnie Bowyer has transformed a barren piece of property near Miller Creek into a beautifully landscaped Texas RV Resort with hundreds of oak, pecan and pine trees.

But despite recently doubling the size of the resort to 248 sites, adding 37 fully furnished luxury cabins, two swimming pools, various recreation buildings and creating a steady roster of weekend activities and special events, marketing the park to families in Texas and across the country has been challenging, particularly when there are hundreds of parks competing for the same business.

A few months ago, however, Bowyer and his staff came up with a new strategy: Join the Yogi Bears Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts chain. The 75-unit franchise network is the second largest family campground chain in the country and is widely known for having quality parks and staff.

We think joining Jellystone will help put us on the map, said Steve Stafford, park manager at Rustic Creek Ranch. Well also be able to tap into their 41 years of experience serving families across the country.

The Jellystone Park chain has two other locations in Texas one in Waller and another in Canyon Lake. Stafford added that the Burleson location, which will be marketed as the North Texas Jellystone Park, plans to invest in additional amenities over the next year including a pedal kart track, arcade, and laser tag. A waterpark and sprayground are expected to open by the summer of 2011.

The Campground in Texas is also investing in inflatable climbing structures for children and is ramping up its slate of campground activities to include daily craft classes, family games, hayrides as well as rides on the parks fire truck, which the park recently purchased. Of course, all these activities have an extra element of fun with Yogi Bear participating. Yogi will be on site daily to greet campers, pose for photo ops and take part in events. The park will also offer Karaoke and movie nights.

The franchisor, Leisure Systems, has already sent staff to our park for onsite training and guidance, Stafford said, adding that the park will be hiring additional staff for the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

South Carolina RV Campground to Join Yogi Bears Jellystone Park Chain

Swansea, SC (Vocus) April 30, 2010

Ever since the Moubray family purchased River Bottom Farms RV Resort & Campground four years ago, they have built the 43-acre park on the North Edisto River into a successful business that draws clientele not only from the Carolinas, but from around the world.

Its amazing what the Internet has done for the RV camping industry, said Susan Moubray, who runs the park with her husband, Jim, and daughter, Dana Gabriel. Weve had people from Israel, Ireland, Switzerland. We ask them, How on Earth did you end up at River Bottom Farms? And they say, We wanted to see the real America.

This summer, the 70-site park is likely to gather even more attention from camping enthusiasts. Thats when the park officially becomes the first campground in South Carolina to join the Yogi Bears Jellystone Park Camp-Resort chain, the second largest campground chain in the country.

Were excited, Dana Gabriel said. The name recognition will help put us on the map and help us draw business we havent been able to capture before.

Joining a nationally known campground chain will also help the family team as they increasingly target their marketing to families in the Carolinas and across the country, many of whom have yet to discover that camping is Americas most affordable vacation option.

You can go to a Braves game in Atlanta with a family of four for four hours and it will cost you more than if you went camping for a whole weekend, Moubray said, adding that parents need to do more to get their children into the Great Outdoors so theyre not just exercising their thumbs.

The River Bottom Farms RV Resort is known for the many family friendly activities it provides, including fishing tournaments in the parks five stocked fishing ponds. Last year, Moubray said, a lady won the fishing tournament we had on Fathers Day. That killed the dads!

The campground also offers nature walks and scavenger hunts. Well give the kids pages and turn them loose to go find different types of bugs, leaves and moss. We have 12 different varieties of ferns here, as well as oaks and maples. We also have Mexican petunias. The children can pick every flower off of that plant and the next day it will bloom again with 100 flowers.

Moubray and Gabriel also like campfire games. Well have the children sit with their families in a circle and one person will start to tell a story, then the next person will add to it and the next person adds to it. Its a continuous narrative with twists and turns and everyone breaks out laughing, Moubray said.

Of course, all these activities now have an extra element of fun with Yogi Bear participating. Yogi will be on site daily to greet campers, pose for photo ops and take part in events.

All of these fun and games are a big change for Susan Moubray and Dana Gabriel, who previously worked together for many years as interior designers until Moubray decided she needed a career change. She initially toyed with the idea of opening a bed and breakfast inn, but she later decided she would rather get involved with a business that involved families with children.

I just think the campground industry as a whole is so family oriented, whereas the bed and breakfast industry isnt, she said, adding, In a campground, children can run, fly a kite, and scream at the top of their lungs and people will love it.

Gabriel, for her part, joined her mother and step-father with what she calls her moms latest business adventure because she liked the idea of being involved in a business that helps promote family bonding and great memories.
