Docs incredible humanitarian saga is already well chronicled in the book Wine to Water, A Bartenders Quest to Bring Clean Water to the World. The 2009 CNN Hero recipient explained his original inspiration. People can go without food for a couple of days, but we cant go without water for two or three days. When Doc learned that three children were dying every minute worldwide due to a lack of clean drinking water, the former bartender/biker knew he had to take action. The most shocking thing when I first learned about this was what little was being done about it and how little was out in the public. I just decided, you know what? I might just be a biker and a bartender and a rough around the edges kind of guy but I am going to do something about it.

That was the genesis of WinetoWater.org which took Doc to some of the most dangerous parts of the world, including war torn Darfur in Sudan, fixing wells and figuring ways to stop the needless deaths of millions of innocents.

Meanwhile stateside, Dee Rubina of FiltersFast.com the catalyst behind W3, lost 150 pounds in her quest to regain her health (most recently 40 lbs walking at work with her TrekDesk Treadmill Desk) and formulated the plan whereby individuals could donate the miles they walk to raise funds to fuel Docs mission. Kidnapped Nigeria State Governor Visits New York Will address his vision, challenges, and achievements; woo investors and condemn abuse of victims of human trafficking.

NEW York,(PRWEB) October 15th, 2003Â…. The Governor of Anambra State in Nigeria, Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige will pay official visit to New York starting on October 30th to November 3rd, 2003. Freedom and Justice International, Inc. in association with Africans In America, Inc. will host the GovernorÂ’s meeting with wider global community, business and political leaders, professionals and other dignitaries to promote awareness on the issues in his state followed by World Press Conference in New York City.

On April 10th 2003, Governor Ngige made history and world news as the first Nigerian elected state chief executive to resist the corrupt practices of sharing the state allocation with the Nigeria political godfathers, a practice which is the standard operating procedure in most Africa countries. This very corrupt practice has been identified as the root cause of under-developed state of African nations. Poor economy is one of the key causes of rising cases of children trafficking in Africa.

For his resistance, he was kidnapped in a terrorist style operation arranged by the brother-in-law of Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and other cronies one of who was a reported international felon wanted in US and Italy. The kidnappers physically assaulted the governor, locked him in a toilet and forced him to sign a resignation letter and video taped his forced resignation speech while gun was pointed at his head. The abductors also made a ransom demand for 3 billion Naira (over $ 23.6 million US dollars). The governorÂ’s life was saved when a quick thinking local community Chief contacted the Nigerian Vice-President and the press and smuggled a cell phone to the governor while in captivity. The Nigerian press aired the governorÂ’s brief statement identifying his location and naming his abductors.

President Obasanjo has refused to order the arrest and prosecution of his brother-in-law and other cronies who kidnapped the state chief executive calling it “a business disagreement over payment of campaign contribution towards the governor’s election”. Obasanjo top police chief who has numerous records of human rights violations such as mass assassination of peaceful protesters were also implicated in the kidnapping and assault of the governor. President Obasanjo controls the whole police force in Nigeria.

The irony was that this incident took place on the eve of the United States President George W. Bush state visit to Nigeria. Nigeria educated class had expected that President Bush being the Chief Commander in the global war against terrorism would have spoken out on the Nigeria state sponsored terrorist operation, which nearly marred his first visit to Africa.

Nigeria is oil producing nation and a major supplier to the United States. Many Nigerians express the sentiment that the United States government appears to turn blind eye to numerous complaint of human rights violations under President Obasanjo due to oil interest. However, any Nigerian leader will always guarantee the flow of all-important Nigerian oil to the west.

Speculation is rife in Nigeria that the kidnappers are still plotting to remove the elected governor.

It will be recalled that when news of terrorist attach on world trade center on September 11th 2001 broke out, the U.S. media reported jubilation in some Nigerian cities in support of the terrorists act. Governor NgigeÂ’s Anambra State is 100% Christians and identified with the United States. The Igbo people in Nigeria like the United States have been disproportionately on the receiving end of State sponsored terrorism.

Governor Ngige will lay a wreath at the site of the former World Trade Center during the visit in New York, which is his first official visit to the U.S.

Keiser University College of Golf Honors New Graduates for Academic Achievements

Keiser University College of Golf Program honored 12 students for their academic achievements and successful completion of the two-year Associate of Science degree in Golf Management. The students received commemorative pins during a brief ceremony recently held at the school.

Students awarded the congratulatory honor were students Justin Avey of Yorksville, Ill.; James Bartol of Melbourne, Fla.; Alan Diaz of Winter Park, Fla.; Bryce Dipatri of Orange Park, Fla.; Blake Hulett of Machesney Park, Ill.; Jeffrey Mann of Narragansett, R.I.; Justin McComic of Lexington, Tenn.; Kyle Nagle of Allentown, Penn.; Larry Nicodemus of Fort Pierce, Fla.; Zachary Norton of Jacksonville, Fla.; Andrew Welnetz of Greenbay, Wis.; and Duane Wheeler of Morenci, Mich.

Each of the honored students met the required credit hours that included golf club fitting and repair, golf course design and maintenance, retail management, tournament operations, golf history and many other aspects of golf course management and the game overall.

All of these students share a common passion for the game of golf and have taken their first giant steps to ensure a successful professional career in the golf industry, says John McMurry, campus vice-president of Keiser University College of Golf. The entire staff at Keiser University College of Golf is extremely proud of the academic and personal accomplishments of all of our students, and were looking forward to seeing them succeed in the field.

The Champions’ Club UK Launches ‘The Annual Champions Night 2005’ to Celebrate the Achievements of Successful Nigerians

The Champions Club challenges the social and economic denigration of Nigerians in the UK by recognising their outstanding contributions to society and commerce and redefining the boundaries of success set by the current status quo. The first Annual Champions Night is the inaugural event in a series of yearly banquets that will help the Club forward its aims and raise the profile of successful Nigerians.

The Annual Champions Night features a banquet for 300 guests, a presentation of five ‘outstanding Nigerian’ awards, a raffle draw in aid of the Sickle Cell Society and keynote speeches from two guest speakers. Entertainment will be provided by a string quintet playing a variety of music ranging from classical to Nigerian folk songs.
